Vector Tracer

Trace bitmap images to SVG paths for Cricut, Silhouette, and plotters. Free online vector tracer that runs in your browser.

About this tool

Vector Tracer converts a bitmap into SVG path data for cutters and plotters (Cricut, Silhouette, and similar). Simplify paths when you need faster cuts or cleaner seams.

Best for: Logos, silhouettes, and high‑contrast line art that must become SVG paths for cutting machines.

How to use it

  1. Start from a clean silhouette or high‑contrast graphic (not a soft photo).
  2. Run the trace and inspect path density in the preview.
  3. Increase simplification if the cutter would choke on tiny segments.
  4. Download SVG and open it in your cutter software for weed/cut settings.

Common problems and tips

  • Too many tiny paths; the cutter stalls. Increase path simplification, start from a higher‑contrast silhouette, or reduce image resolution before tracing.
  • Photo tracing looks messy. Trace silhouettes or logo art, not photographic gradients. Use Silhouette Maker or Background Remover first.
